New to Pilates:
HOW TO GET STARTED
Our dynamic instructors are here to help, whatever your fitness level! We know the Pilates machines can look a bit intimidating at first, so we have comfy (but challenging!) first steps. We have lots of first timers in our Lifestyle SNT (Stretch & Tone) classes to get a hang of our style and familiarize yourself with our equipment. You’ll learn how to use the Reformer and other equipment with springs. Or start with a Private 1:1 session master the equipment and learn how to maximize every move.

Benefits of Pilates
Pilates doesn’t stress your body in the ways that lifting weights or other workout methods may, this is why everyone can do it. Your bones will strengthen, muscles will tone and firm, and you will look fit. But, most of all, as you work out and begin to feel better physically, we hope you will also begin to feel better mentally. You’ll stand taller, move with grace and most importantly, feel energized. One of the best things about Pilates is that it works so well for a wide range of people. Uber-athletes and dancers love it, as do seniors, fitness buffs, yogis, and women rebounding from pregnancy.
FAQs
Wear comfortable workout clothes that you feel ok sweating in. You’ll be laying down some of the time with your hands or legs in the air, so make sure your clothes move with you. You don’t have to wear shoes or socks—though you can wear Pilates sticky socks, which will give you better grip for some of the exercises. You can purchase socks in our fitness boutique. Bring a water bottle—or we have water for you.
You will be building and toning your muscles, and that muscle will continue to burn calories, even after you have left class. Many of our classes inject some cardio into them to help get your heart rate up and whittle away pounds. With proper diet and a good mix of classes, you can definitely lose weight.
Absolutely! It was started by a fitness buff, Joseph Pilates, and it remains a great workout for men. Our classes don’t have complex choreography or dance moves—we keep it sporty, and you’ll break a sweat.
All of our instructors are certified through an accredit certified program
Our cancellation policy is 24 hours in advance for reformer classes and privates. If you don’t show up or cancel with adequate notice, you will be billed for the class. We know schedules can get crazy—try to remember to cancel the day ahead so you aren’t billed.
Definitely hop on the wait list for a class—we’ll notify you by email if a space opens up, and you can decide then if you want to join us. If the wait list is full and you really want in the class, stop by and we’ll put you in if there is a last-minute no show. We do allow clients who are signed up to join 10 minutes late, so you may be “bumped” if the signed-up client shows up (don’t worry you won’t pay for the few minutes you got to work out).
Please visit our schedule page, check out the Mindbody Express mobile app you can download through the iTunes or Android store, or you can just call the studio. We are here to make it easy for you. You can also call us to schedule an appointment.
We offer modifications to many exercises and encourage you to move at your own pace. If you need to take a little break during class, you will feel comfortable doing it.
